Community Involvement

INDY CULTURAL TRAIL

As a family owned Indiana small business, we have a history in not-for-profits and believe in the importance of being involved in our community. Sandpaper America was excited to help supply Indianapolis based GRT Glass Design with materials that they used to create glass sculptures for the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick is a world-class urban bike and pedestrian path that connects neighborhoods, Cultural Districts and entertainment amenities, and serves as the downtown hub for the entire central Indiana greenway system.

GRT created the etched glass art installations with the help of Sandpaper America’s Resin S/C Cloth for the Cultural Trail’s Glick Peace Walk. The Glick Peace Walk is dedicated to individuals who achieved greatness through peaceful pursuits. The Peace Walk includes 12 distinctive sculptural gardens that celebrate the lives and accomplishments of these “luminaries.” The design elements of the luminary gardens enable visitors to gain a deeper understanding of how these inspiring individuals were able to overcome challenges and dedicate their lives to the greater good of society.
